Curator guide

Review city knowledge for usefulness, evidence, rights, duplication, and disclosure.

Curation responsibilities

  • Use changes requested when an author can correct a submission.
  • Keep provider-derived metadata separate from a member's local note.
  • Recuse from decisions involving your business, family, compensation, or a direct local conflict.

How city states work

  • Interest-only cities can gather followers and contributor applications but do not accept public contributions yet.
  • Open-to-premoderation cities accept submissions, but every new contribution remains private until reviewed.
  • Active cities have passed their launch gates; Established is a later recognition state based on sustained community health.

Review, reports, and appeals

Review checks usefulness, accuracy, rights, disclosure, and safety. Reports can limit visibility while evidence is reviewed, but report counts are not a verdict. Eligible consequential decisions include an appeal path.

Reputation and authority

Reputation recognizes validated local knowledge. It never grants moderation authority automatically. Stewardship is appointed, scoped, trained, audited, and subject to conflict rules.
